Over the last few weeks, firefighters from Kennett Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, and Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company have spent several training nights practicing our skills at a building scheduled to be demolished. On our last night with access to the building, crews practiced opening doors and removing windows. Gaining access to victims, removing smoke and heat, and providing an escape route for interior firefighters is essential during a fire.
Departments train weekly on Wednesday nights. Crews will be concentrating on water rescue training in the coming weeks.
