At 11:11am on Thursday, August 10th, Kennett Fire Company was dispatched to assist Longwood Fire Company for a reported building fire at the Shoppes At Longwood Village in the 800 block of E. Baltimore Pike in East Marlborough Township. The reporting party stated that there was smoke in the building but was uncertain where the smoke was coming from.

Kennett's Tower 24 arrived as the First Due Special unit. The crew split with one firefighter going to the roof while the others investigated a smoke haze in the interior of the building. Normal conditions were found on the roof, and no fire was found inside the building. Longwood's Assistant 25 located and secured a tripped circuit breaker. Crews checked the building again and confirmed that there was no fire. Assistant 25 advised store personnel to have the circuit breaker checked by an electrician.

Fire Police from Kennett and Longwood closed the main entrance to the shopping center and detoured traffic around the scene within the shopping center during the incident.

The last units cleared the scene at 11:45am.
