On Tuesday at 10:20AM, Kennett Fire Company along with other Regional Departments were dispatched to a residential structure fire in Kennett Township. Tower 24, Engine 25-2 and Chief 25 made the response immediately at the time of dispatch. Chief 25 arrived on location first and reported a 2.5 story, single family dwelling with smoke and fire showing. Chief 25 also reported the possibility of entrapment on the second floor. Engine 25-2 arrived and assumed the First Due Engine assignment stretching a 1.75” hand line to extinguish the fire. Tower 24 arrived and took the First Due Special assignment. The Tower crew split the assignment and entered the residence and completed a primary search for potential victims and found none. The crew then opened up the walls and ceiling for the Engine crew to extinguish the fire. At the same time, the Tower operator deployed the aerial main to the roof and cut four ventilation holes to improve interior conditions. The fire was placed under control just before 11:00AM. All units continued to work and preform overhaul throughout the residence. Units cleared the scene at 1:00PM Engine 24, Tower 24 and Chief 24 all made the response.
