At 8:36 am on Thursday, December 5th, the Kennett Regional Fire Department and other mutual aid companies responded to assist West Grove Fire Company with a fully-involved barn fire in the 500 block of Lewisville Rd. in New London Township. Kennett Fire Company's Engine 24, Tanker 24, and fire police responded to the scene.

The crew of Engine 24 extinguished a tree that was on fire and soaked hay as it was pulled out of the barn, while Tanker 24 provided water at the scene. Kennett's fire police assisted with traffic control in the area.

There were no injuries, and it was reported that all animals were safely removed from the building. The last units cleared the scene around 4:40 pm.
