On May 22-23, 2010 the Kennett Fire Company No. 1 hosted an Emergency Boat Operations & Rescue Training Course. The training was instructed by WhiteCap Water Rescue Training staff instructors Todd Stahl, Scott Davis and Greg Miller. The following companies participated in the training; Kennett Fire Company, Alert Fire Company – Downingtown, Fame Fire Company – West Chester and the Media Fire Company.

Emergency Boat Operation & Rescue included both classroom and practical hands-on training in boat selection, recommended equipment, boat-handling, moving-water tactics, and boat-rescue techniques. This course meets NFPA 1670 Technician Level Guidelines. This 16-hour course is a must-have for any rescue unit involved in on-the-water Rescue Boat Operations.

The above Chester County Fire/Rescue Companies continue to train as they move forward with forming the Chester County Rescue Taskforce.
